New independent for French markets A group of Spanish and French investors have been given the green light by French authorities to set up three grinding facilities in France to cater for increasing levels of domestic demand as local producers struggle to keep pace with a fast-rising cement demand throughout much of the French market. The group, which includes Cementos La Union, Spain, have made a combined commitment to to set up two 500,000tpa capacity mills, one of which will be located in Fos sur Mer, Marseilles and one in Dunkirk. Both are expected to be fully operational within the next 22 months.
