The management of Caribbean Cement Company Limited is conducting an assessment to determine the effects of the government’s decision to extend the removal of the tariff on cement.

It has been announced that imported cement will remain tariff free for a further two years.

The tariff was removed earlier this after a critical shortage of cement crippled the local construction sector.

General Manager of Carib Cement, Anthony Haynes, told RJR News that the company has several concerns about the Government’s latest decision.
