Peru exports of cement jumped 27 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2006 to US$7.77m the country’s exporters’ association Adex said on May 5, 2006. The exports of cement type portland soared 59 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2006 to US$6.46m Adex added. Exports of clinker dropped 40 per cent to US$1.12m. The remaining were exports of white portland cement. 
 
Peruvian cement exports were mainly directed to the United States, $6.35m, up 58 per cent. Colombia ranked second. The main Peruvian cement exporters currently are Cementos Lima and Cemento Andino.
