H.W.Carlsen from Malmö, Sweden has announced that it has received an order from Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, the Netherlands for the delivery of the dry bulk handling system to be installed on board of the Damen Platform Supply Vessels 7216.
The ships are under construction at Damen’s yard in Galati, Romania and are to be delivered to Vroon Shipping from the Netherlands during 2007.
The total dry bulk capacity of the systems is to be 260 m3 and the discharge rate is expected at 75 Mts/Hour. H.W.Carlsen has included the special feature of the H.W.Carlsen dust collecting system, eliminating the escape of dust from the vent lines into the environment. The system allows for two segregations that can be discharged simultaneously.
The compressor system is completed with refrigerated air dryers in order to avoid humidity to interfere with the quality of the dry bulk material. Furthermore the compressors are frequency controlled, consequently saving substantially on the energy consumption.
The valves in the combined fill-, discharge line(s) and the vent line(s) are provided with hydraulic driven actuators and the whole system is remote controlled from the wheel house.
H.W.Carlsen is one of the world’s leading experts in design and supply of dry bulk handling equipment, specializing in ship and barge loading and unloading with hundreds of references around the world.
Today, H.W.Carlsen systems can be found all over the world handling many million tons of dry bulk cargo per year. We are involved in all kinds of operations, from large specially built cement carriers of over 40.000 dwt to small barges, from big silo terminals, where unloading of ships and distribution are essential functions, to modest railcar loading/unloading terminals
