Indonesian producer PT Semen Padang in West Sumatra recorded a 6.4 per cent year-on-year increase in production to 1.26Mt in the first quarter of this year.   The production was 9.21 per cent higher than previous estimate, company secretary Chairil Chaidir said. Padang saw its sales rise 3.4 per cent to 1.19Mt in the first three months of this year compared with the same period last year. Chaidir said the company plans to reduce exports to increase supply and prevent a shortage on the domestic market.
