Turkish cement maker Cimsa said on Friday it has recently set up a unit in Constanta, southeastern Romania, via which it plans to back its investment plans in the country.
"It [Romania] is an attractive country for us considering the EU perspective. We established a company named CIMSAROM Marketing Distributie SRL in Constanta in order to invest in Romania. We are currently working on different investment plans but no major investment should be expected in the coming days," Cimsa’s assistant general manager, Mehmet Hacikamiloglu, told SeeNews.
"Any country neighbouring Mediterranean and Black Sea is in our investment scope, we will be looking for opportunities especially in Russia and Spain," Hacikamiloglu added. The Turkish company has exported white cement to Romania since 2003.
