Saudi Yanbu Cement said a fire damaged one of four production lines at its sole plant but did not affect supplies. The firm is still trying to determine the causes of the fire which erupted early yesterday at the plant located in the Yanbu industrial zone on the Red Sea, it said in a statement. Saudi newspapers Okaz and Al Riyadh said the fire damaged up to a half of the facility. Company officials declined to comment on the newspaper reports. The firm produces 4.8Mt of cement a year, most of which supplies the Western area of the kingdom.
