The project, which envisages the construction of a new kiln, is scheduled for completion in 2007 and will allow the company to meet growing domestic demand.

Cemex has 15 cement plants in Mexico with annual production of about 27Mt. The company, which operates in more than 50 countries, plans to invest US$500m in expansion of its operations in 2006, including in the UK, France and Latvia, among others.
