The cement industry anticipates a sharp rise in prices in Andhra Pradesh as the demand for the commodity is growing day by day.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Rajiv Kumar, senior marketing manager, Associate Cement Companies (ACC), said that price per bag is "Demand emanating from the irrigation projects is yet to pick up and the same is expected in the next one month. Hopefully, by then the prices will move up," Mr Kumar said.
Saying that the cement prices have not increased for some time in the state, he felt any raise in the prices will be legitimate. As of now, cement is sold at Rs 140 per bag in Hyderabad while it is sold at Rs 150 in Rayalaseema and coastal districts and in Telangana it is sold at Rs 130 per bag.
