The Vietnamese Prime Minister has approved the construction of Do Luong cement factory in the central Nghe An province with a total capacity of 3Mt of cement a year. The construction is divided into three phases. The first phase is scheduled to start before mid-December this year and the factory will be operational by early 2008, producing about 900,000t of cement a year. Investors in the factory are allowed to borrow up to 30 per cent of the total investment capital from the Development Supporting Fund as well as from foreign and domestic commercial banks.
