Cement consumption in Spain rose 4.85 pct year-on-year in the first nine months of 2005 to 37.99Mt, the Spanish cement makers association Oficemen said on October 18, 2005. Cement consumption in the 12 months to September 2005 totalled 49.73Mt, up 4.6 pct from the period September 2003-September 2004.
Cement output in Spain in the first nine months of 2005 totalled 36Mt, rising 5.4 per cent year-on-year. Cement production in the 12 months to September 2005 totalled 48.5mt, up 5.0 per cent from the period September 2003-September 2004.
The imports of cement reached 6.6Mt in the first nine months of 2005, up 11 per cent year-on-year. Exports dropped 7.3 per cent year-on-year to 1.05Mt in the period from January to September 2005.
