As a result of the expansion of the installed production capacity in the north of Mexico, Corporació Moctezuma raised its market share in the cement industry in the last two years from two to 10 per cent. In this sense, the firm reported an additional income of near US$300m, said Pedro Carranza, Concrete Division manager at Corporació Moctezuma. After doubling the capacity of the plant in Morelos, and opening a new one in San Luis Potosíwith a capacity of 1.3Mta, the company increased its market share eight per cent against larger local cement firms: Cemex and Holcim’s Apasco. Moctezuma is jointly owned by Molins, Buzzi Unicem and the Carso group.
