Turkish cement producer Cimsa will put into operation a US$30m (EUR24.3m) cement plant in 2005. The plant, located in Kayseri, central Turkey, will have a capacity of 1800tpd utilising low fuel and electricity costs. 

Cimsa targets TRL280m (US$212.4m) in turnover, including exports of US$60m, for 2005. The company targets 2.75Mt of cement and clinker sales in 2005. Of these, 35% are projected to be sold abroad. Cimsa ready mix concrete sales are seen at 1.2Mm3 this year.

The company markets its white cement production mainly in the Middle East, in northern and western Africa and in southern and northern Europe. It exports to a total 36 countries.  It has recently started cement exports to Russia and looks to achieve a leading position in this country.
