Indonesia’s cement maker PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa said Friday it swung to a first half net profit due to an increase in revenue and a decline in foreign exchange losses. It booked IDR307.62 billion in net profit, compared to IDR117.30 billion in losses a year earlier. Its revenue jumped 25 per cent to IDR2.54 trillion. It didn’t give a reason for the increase in revenue, but analysts attributed it to higher cement prices and an increase in sales volume due to rising demand from local companies. Indocement also noted it booked IDR27.89 billion in foreign exchange losses at end-June, compared with IDR433.93 billion in losses a year earlier.
