Cement production in Poland fell to 4.9Mt in the first half of 2005, from 5.3Mt in the first half of 2004, the country’s association of cement producers SPC said. The country’s clinker production dropped 8.0 per cent year-on-year to 3.6Mt from January to June 2005, SPC added. The sales of cement slided 11 per cent year-on-year, while clinker sales grew 21.6 per cent year-on-year in the first six months of 2005. The country’s cement exports grew 56.6 per cent year-on-year and clinker exports rose 43 per cent year-on-year from January to June 2005.
