The Bajil cement plant in Yemen’s western Hodeidah posted a revenue of 4.71bn Yemeni riyals (US$24.5m) for 2004, up from 4.26bn riyals (US$22.11m) in 2003.
The factory’s output was 357,629t in 2004 which is an increase of 16,135t compared to the previous year, according to Bajil Cement’s director general, Abdul Kareem Harrab.
The strong performance was a result of the continuous efforts of the management to raise the qualification and skills of the plant’s staff, Harrab added. A total 305 employees participated in various training programmes and courses in 2003 and 2004.
