Cement deliveries by APC members Asment Témara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du MarocLafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim in Morocco declined by 12.8 per cent YoY to 896,535t in March 2025 from 1,028,015t, according to the national cement association, APC. The decline has been attributed by inclement weather and the Ramadan period. 

The wholesale segment accounted for 445,670t in March 2025, representing a 22.5 per cent contraction from 575,126t when compared with March 2024. Sales to the ready-mix concrete sector edged up by 6.7 per cent YoY to 255,196t from 239,250t over the same period while prefabricated segment volumes saw a 1.3 per cent uptick to 104,629t from 103,306t. Deliveries to the infrastructure market were down 18.1 per cent to 58,363t in March 2025 from 71,292t in the year-ago period. Off-take by the building segment decreased by 13.6 per cent YoY to 28,755t in March 2025 from 33,294t in March 2024 while the mortar market contracted by 36.9 per cent YoY to 3923t from 6215t. 

First-quarter 2025
Total deliveries by APC members in Morocco during the January-March 2025 period saw 4.5 per cent growth to 3.382Mt from 3.235Mt in the 1Q24. 

Member companies supplied 1.817Mt to the wholesale sector, representing a 1.7 per cent decrease when compared with the 1Q24, when volumes reached 1.848Mt. However, the ready-mix concrete sector increased its off-take by 18.6 per cent YoY to 0.858Mt in the 1Q25 from 0.722Mt in the equivalent period of the previous year and deliveries to the prefabricated segment increased by 16.8 per cent to 0.369Mt from 0.316Mt in the year-ago period. Dispatches to the building market slipped by 1.5 per cent YoY to 0.105Mt in the 1Q25 from 0.106Mt in the 1Q24 while infrastructure deliveries were down by two per cent YoY to 0.221Mt from 0.226Mt over the same period. Volumes supplied to the mortar segment were down 19.7 per cent YoY to 0.014Mt in the January-March 2025 period from 0.017Mt in the year-ago period.
