Japanese cement and mineral products maker Ryukyu Cement Co in Okinawa, southern Japan, posted a parent net profit of 489m Japanese yen (US$4.5m/€3.7m) for fiscal 2004/2005, ended March 31, 2005, down 19.4 pct YoY
The company posted 1.03bn yen (US$9.6m/€7.8m) in parent recurring profit, which is a pre-tax profit excluding extraordinary items, down 19 per cent. Parent sales revenue decreased 7.1 per cent to 9.64bn yen (US$89.9m/€73.4m). Ryukyu Cement marked decreases both in sales and profits for the second consecutive year. The sales of the company’s cement department decreased 4.6 per cent to 5.53bn yen (US$51.5m/€42.1m. The sales of its mineral products department decreased 23.4 pct to 1.19bn yen (US$11.1m/€9m).
