Ukranian cement production down by 9.8 per cent to 684,000t In March

In March, Ukranian cement production fell by 9.8 per cent compared with March 2004, to 684,000t.

This was disclosed by the State Statistics Committee. In March, cement production rose by 32.6 per cent compared with February, to 684,000t.

In January-March, cement production rose by 7.9 per cent compared with the same period of 2004, to 1,705,000t. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in February, cement production rose by 12.6 per cnet compared with February 2004, to 515,000 tons.

In 2004, cement production rose by 19.3 per cent or 1,719,000t compared with 2003, to 10,635,000 tons.More than 15 enterprises produce cement in Ukraine, and their total annual capacity is more than 20Mt.
