Paraguay’s state cement company Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) posted a US$232,000 net profit in 2004, after closing six years in the red, newspaper La Nacion quoted company head Amlcar Troche as saying.  Last year’s result was helped by a drop in cement and clinker production costs, based on the purchase of lower cost supplies, raw material and replacement parts, said the report.  The INC is Paraguay’s sole cement producer and has installed capacity of some 675,000tpa.  The company plans to invest US$15m this year to optimize and increase production, while more ambitious plans for the future call for the construction of a new 1.2Mt clinker production line that would cost US$80m and assure cement production for 20 years.
