Oman’s cement producer Raysut Cement Co plans to put the third production line, presently developed at its cement plant in Salalah, southern Oman, into trial operations in November 2005, it was reported on March 22, 2005.  Raysut Cement started works on the line, planned to have an annual capacity of 1Mt, in September 2004.  The line will raise Raysut Cement total annual output to over 2.2Mt, the company said. The company is expected to sell a total 1.113Mt of cement in 2005 and up to 1.980Mt in 2006, compared to 1,025Mt in 2004. Raysut Cement is reportedly considering the establishment of a cement packaging station in Somalia. No further details on the project were available.
