Qatar National Cement Co (QNCC) registered a net profit of QAR170m (US$46.7m) in 2004, compared to QAR153m (US$42m) in 2003.
The company’s sales rose 51 per cent YoY to QAR450m (US$123.7m) in 2004.
QNCC, set up in 1965, started on December 20, 2004 construction works on a project for the establishment of a third cement plant. The new plant, scheduled to reach its full capacity in the second half of 2006, will raise QNCC daily production of clinker to 6,900 tonnes, which will boost the company’s total cement output to 10,800tpd.
