In 2005, the increase in cement production in Russia is set to continue. According to the Eurocement Group, its 2005 cement output is projected at 50.5 to 50.7Mt. In 2004, Russia manufactured 45.6Mt of cement, up 11.3% YoY. The Eurocement Group remains a major cement producer, with the 2004 output of 9.7Mt of cement, or 13% more than in 2003.  

Eurocement Group, Russia’s biggest cement holding company, controls 20% of the Russian and 60% of the Moscow cement market. The group incorporates six cement makers, such as Maltsovsky Portlandcement (the Bryansk region), Mikhailovcement (the Ryazan region), Lipetskcement, the Savinsky Cement Factory (the Arkhangelsk region), Nevyansky Cementnik (the Sverdlovsk region) and Katavsky Cement (the Chelyabinsk region). The group controls from 75% to 100% of these business shares, including through the Eurocement Company, which is a sales subsidiary of the group. The company has been exporting its products to western and eastern Europe since 2000. The company is the only integrated cement group that holds transhipment terminals and a large- capacity trucks and mixers fleet.
