This year HeidelbergCement company plans to invest around Euro 20m in modernization and development of its Ukrainian subsidiaries, Kryvyi Rih Cement and Dniprodzerzhynsk-based Dniprotsement (both located in Dnipropetrovsk region).   A representative of the two subsidiaries disclosed this to Ukrainian News.   He said that at Kryvyi Rih Cement HeidelbergCement would upgrade cement mills and the system of loading cement into railcars and other bulk-cement transport units, modify the clinker cooler, reconstruct the power saving system and new package facility.   At Dniprotsement it will replace slag conveyors, modernise compressors, rotary driers and kilns, and purchase new bulk-cement transport units.  

Kryvyi Rih Cement increased cement production by 0.126Mt or 10.3 per cent to 1.347Mt and increased production of clinker by 0.074Mt or 8.7 per cent to 0.922Mt in 2004. Dniprotsement boosted cement output by 51,100 tons or 13.3 per cent to 435,600t and clinker by 13.2 per cent or 30,100 tons to 257,800t. According to the Agency for Development of Stock Market Infrastructures, Germany’s HeidelbergCement international company holds 79.6 per cent of the shares in Kryvyi Rih Cement and 99.97 per cent in Dniprotsement.
