Lafarge Indian unit plans to spend INR4.50bn for a 2.5Mta capacity expansion at its plant in eastern Chhattisgarh state, reports the Economic Times. Lafarge will initially expand the plant’s capacity by 1Mt, and later by another 1.5Mt. The capacity expansion will boost Lafarge’s Indian output to 7.5Mt from 5Mt currently, which would make it the biggest cement producer in eastern India.
