Local and export cement sales in Peru grew in total 9.58% to 4.15Mt in the first 11 months of the year, compared to the same period last year, the country’s cement producers association Asocem reported. 

Cementos Lima was the leading producer in the period with sales of 1.81Mt, followed by Cemento Andino (747,478t), Cementos Pacasmayo (600,255t), Cemento Yura (393,612t), Cemento Sur (111,110t) and Cemento Selva (103,851t). 

In the period, local cement sales grew 3.79% to 3.6Mt, while last month, local sales rose 7.9% to 350,561t compared to November 2003, Asocem added. 

Cement exports between January and November jumped 74% to 543,349t, all by the country’s leading producer Cementos Lima.
