On December 15, the shareholders of the Kryvyi Rih Cement, one of the five largest cement producers in Ukraine, have dismissed Daniel Gauthier and Darius Kazimirchak of their duties as supervisory board members and appointed Andreas Kern and Gerhard Hirs in their place. This was disclosed to Ukrainian News by a representative of the company. In his words, Gauthier represented the HeidelbergerCement company in the supervisory board, and is responsible for Central and Eastern Europe markets. Due to structural reorganization in HeidelbergerCement Gauthier was transferred to another market and Kern was appointed in his place. In this connection, the shareholders saw it fit to appoint Kern as member of the supervisory board. Kazimirchak is internal auditor of the company. Hirs is board member of the HeidelbergerCement company.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the enterprise increased cement production by 71,011t or 18.9 per cent to 445,819t in July-September, compared with the corresponding period of last year. Earlier, Kryvyi Rih Cement increased cement production by 325,500t or 36.3 per cent to 1,221,400t in 2003.
The Kryvyi Rih Cement has a design annual capacity of 1.5Mta of cement. According to the Agency for Development of Stock Market Infrastructures, Germany’s HeidelbergCement holds 79.6 per cent of the shares in Kryvyi Rih Cement while Foyil Services Limited (Cyprus) holds 10 per cent.
