Chilean company Materiales de Construcción Ventanas has submitted an environmental impact declaration for a US$18m cement grinding plant project to the country’s environment authority Conama. The project, dubbed "Planta de Molienda de Cemento, Puerto Ventanas," entails installing a grinding, storage and dispatch plant opposite of Region V port Ventanas, according to information from Conama’s website. The 60,000 sq m facility will have the capacity to produce 350,000tpa cement. According to the project’s backers, construction is slated to begin in January and be completed in February 2006; it is envisioned to operate through 2036. Published under Cement News
