Cement sales from PT Semen Tonasa in Makassar, South Sulawesi, rose 20 per cent year-on-year to 1.1Mt in the first half of this year, a company official said . Marketing executive of PT Tonasa Wahab Candoko said demand for cement especially in eastern part of the country has increased lately. Wahab said development of housing and infrastructure projects is brisker with restoration of political stability and security in the region.
He said the company predicted a 20 per cent growth in sales in the second half of the year compared with the same period last year bringing its total sales to 2.4Mt this year. Normally consumption increased in the second half of a year, he added.
