Fujairah Cement Industries, FCI, is gearing up for an investment of AED60m for the expansion of its existing plant in Dibba according to a report in Khaleej Times. The company’s proposed expansion of additional 25 per cent capacity will be operational in the next two months. The proposed investment was arranged through bank borrowings and internal accruals. Currently, the company has a total capacity of 4000tpd of clinker which will be upgraded to 5000tpd following the completion of the project.
The company is injecting the additional capacity in its existing plant which is currently undergoing few modifications at this point in time. So far the largest plant in the UAE has been trying hard to match the increasing demand for cement.
