Major cement manufacturers in India propose to enter the ready-mix concrete (RMC) segment. Associated Cement Companies (ACC) intends to add two RMC units to the existing set-up of 11 units in 2004. Madras Cements had set up two RMC plants near Chennai in 2003-2004. Chettinad Cements has set up an RMC plant near Coimbatore. Grasim recorded a turnover of Rs116 crore from RMC business in 2003-2004.
