Indonesia’s domestic cement sales grew by 9.2 per cent in June to 2.59Mt compared to the same period a year ago, the country’s largest cement maker PT Semen Gresik Tbk said on Tuesday. Gresik sold a total of 1.38Mt of cement last month, including exports, up 20 per cent from the same month in 2003, the company said on its Web site. The domestic market share of the state-run firm, has increase to 45 per cent in the first six months of this year from 42.6 per cent. Some analysts have forecast domestic cement sales would rise eight percent this year, helped by property projects and other spending linked to the country’s long election process.
