Higher operating revenues helped push Cementos Lima SA’s second-quarter net income to PEN25.4m compared with PEN25.1m in the same quarter last year. Operating revenues rose to PEN146.4m in the second quarter compared with PEN141.1 million in the same period a year earlier.

Net income in the first half of the year reached PEN51.8m compared with PEN50.5m in the same period last year.  That was on six-month operating revenues of PEN286.1m compared with PEN276.0 million in the same period last year.  The company said that cement production in the second quarter of the year rose 25.8% to 634,900t.

It added that production in the first six months of the year was 1.09Mt, 13.3% higher than in the same period last year.  Cementos Lima holds about 40% of the local cement market.
