Turkish cement and clinker producer Bursa Cimento will build a ready-mix plant in the Kutahya region, western Turkey. The plant will have a capacity of 80tph, Bursa Cimento said in a statement .
Bursa Cimento has an annual capacity of 2.9Mt of cement and 1.35Mt of clinker. The company holds a 12.5 per cent market share in the Turkish northwestern region of Marmara and a 3.5 per cent market share in Turkey as a whole.
Bursa Cimento exports mainly to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Algeria and targets a five per cent growth for 2004. The company decided in April 2004 to buy per cent pct in local cement producer Tunckul Cimento from diversified company Temtas Tavsanli Enerji.
Bursa Cimento registered a net profit of 7.0 trln lira (US$4.9m) for 2003, down from 9.6 trln lira (US$6.7m) for 2002.
