State-owned Indonesian cement maker PT Semen Baturaja said it is optimistic it will reach its production target of 850,000t this year.
Production has been boosted by growing demand for cement in South Sumatra and Lampung, its president Bakti Setiawan said.
Bakti said the two provinces have major infrastructure projects such as roads and airports that need a large supply of cement.
He said demand for cement fell ahead of the legislative elections in April, but in Maya demand began to rise as investors were encouraged by the peaceful implementation of the elections.
