Portland cement deliveries in Argentina jumped 30.5 per cent in June to 489,394t, compared to the same month last year, the country’s Portland cement producers association said in a release.

When compared to the previous month, deliveries rose 7.9 per cent.  The increases reflect the rhythm of the country’s construction activity, which grew 27.1% in May compared to the same month last year, and 5.6 per cent when compared to the previous month, Invertia reports.

Regarding this year’s expected cement sales, Argentine research was quoted as saying that these should be around 5.7Mt, up 12 per cent from 2003.
