Indonesia’s domestic consumption of cement reached 11.244Mt during the first five months of 2004, an increase of 8.7 per cent from 10.321Mt for the same period last year, according to data released by the Indonesian Cement Producers Associations. The data showed that domestic cement consumption amounted to 2.373Mt in May, up 6.3 per cent year-on-year. Cement exports rose sharply from 662,600t in May 2003 to 825,787t in May this year, it added.
