Cement deliveries in Chile fell 2.8 per cent in the first five months of 2004 compared to the same period last year due to the conclusion of large infrastructure projects, according to a report by local financial firm CB Capitales.
According to the report, companies Melón and Bío Bío saw cement deliveries increase 2.9 and 1.6 per cent, respectively, while Polpaico suffered an 11.4 per cent drop. Last year Melón held a 38 per cent market share, Polpaico 33 per cent and Bío Bío 30 per cent.
In 2003 local cement deliveries in Chile grew 4.6 per cent to 3.62Mt.
