Morocco’s cement consumption stood at 3.9Mt in the first five months of 2004, up 6.5 per cent year-on-year, it was reported on June 22, 2004.  The country’s eastern regions and the northern Tangier-Tetouan region registered the highest increase in cement consumption with respectively 14.4 per cent and 10.6 per cent. The Tangier-Tetouan region accounted for 10.5 per cent of the country’s total cement consumption, while the eastern regions accounted for 10 per cent.  The central region of Souss-Massa-Draa registered a 3.4 pct increase and accounted for 10.3 per cent of the total consumption, while the northwestern region of Casablanca registered a 2.4 per cent increase and accounted for 15.2 per cent.
