Cemex expects US sales volumes to grow 5 per cent this year compared to 2003 thanks to highway, industrial, commercial and housing projects, El Norte quoted VP of corporate finance Rodrigo Treviño as
saying. "Organic growth in the US market will be between 2-3%, but this increases to 5% when we add production from Dixon, a small acquisition we carried out in third quarter last year," Treviño said.
The US is Cemex’s largest foreign market, representing 22% of total sales, which came in at 64.7Mt last year. Cemex also expects its total corporate sales volume to increase about 5% in 2004 thanks to demand from infrastructure projects.
