Indonesian domestic cement sales jumped 20 per cent to 2.04Mt in February compared to the same month last year, the country’s largest cement maker said.
PT Semen Gresik Tbk, 25.5 per cent owned by Cemex said in a statement obtained on Monday that its own sales, including exports, jumped 23.4 per cent in February to almost 1Mt.
The company did not elaborate on the reasons for the increases.
Some analysts have predicted growth in cement sales of around eight percent this year, mainly due to government-related projects as well as the growing property sector.
