Tarmac America, a subsidiary of Titan America LLC is proceeding with plans to expand its operations in Tampa with a cement facility at the Port of Tampa. The plan seeks a lease agreement for 25 acres according to Tampa port officials"This would be a major expansion for Tarmac," Lori Musser, the port's spokeswoman, said Friday. Tarmac currently leases 3.6 acres at Hookers Point. The lease proposal is divided into 6-acre and 19-acre segments, Musser said.
Another company, Martin Marietta Aggregates Inc. of Raleigh, N.C., also intends to increase business at the port, a company official said Monday. Martin Marietta is scheduled to renew a lease for 16 acres this month. "We intend to increase volume, which will provide more revenue for the port," said Keith Hedrick, regional vice president for Martin Marietta.
