Effective from 1 December 2012,  the Non-Ferrous and Bulk Materials will be renamed to reflect the underlying technology focus in each of the two FLSmidth divisions.

Non-Ferrous will be renamed “Mineral Processing” and Bulk Materials will be renamed “Material Handling”.

The Non-Ferrous Division has, in the past, been focussing on mineral processing technologies primarily to non-ferrous minerals, but as it now also includes Ludowici mineral processing products for bulk materials such as coal and iron ore, the divisional name Mineral Processing is considered more appropriate.

The Mineral Processing Division includes all the activities of the former Non-Ferrous Division and operations in the division remain unchanged. The operations and activities of the new Material Handling Division will similarly remain unchanged to those known in the former Bulk Materials Division.
