Indonesian cement consumption is expected to rise between 10-12 per cent in 2013, driven by developments in the property and infrastructure sector, according to estimates by the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI).
Cement demand last year is expected to have increased by 14.5 per cent to 55Mt. The ASI is optimistic that this high growth trajectory can be sustained this year thanks in part to the economic development master plan (MP3EI).
“The domestic cement consumption is still high, particularly for housing and infrastructure construction through MP3EI program,” Bisnis Indonesia quoted an ASI spokesperson saying.
