Cement deliveries in Switzerland declined 3.7 per cent to 914,625t in the third quarter of 2024, down from 950,101t in the same quarter of 2023. Total exports from Indonesia declined by 35.5 per cent in June 2022 as the country’s cement producers supplied 665,760t of cement and clinker to overseas destinations, according to the Indonesian cement association, ASI. Indonesia's annual domestic cement demand reached 65.215Mt in 2021, representing an increase of 4.3 per cent on the year before, in line with industry expectations.   All of the domestic regions recorded higher demand in 2021. Indonesian cement and clinker exports rise to record levels in 2021

Indonesia is rapidly expanding its cement and clinker export activities, with YoY volumes climbing by 25.2 per cent to reach a record 11.610Mt in 2021. By year end, cement exports grew by 46.6 per cent to 1.609Mt, while clinker volumes expanded by 22.3 per cent to 10.001Mt. Bangladesh and the Philippines were major clinker destinations, while cement destinations included Mauritius and the Maldives.

Vietnam cement production reached 101.2Mt in 2021

Vietnam is estimated to have produced 101.2Mt of cement in 2021, up 2.6 per cent YoY, according to the latest data from the government-run General Statistics Office (GSO). In December, the country’s cement output is projected to have reached 9.9Mt, up 8.4 per cent YoY, the GSO said.

All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) released dispatch figures for August 2021 with a positive note that the cement sector posted growth of 22.8 per cent in August 2021 by dispatching 4.336Mt when compared with 3.531Mt during the same month of the previous fiscal year. Vietnam’s cement sales reached 8.96Mt in November, down two per cent MoM, but up six per cent YoY, according to statistics released by the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA).   This total included 5.82Mt sold in the domestic market, up 19 per cent MoM and seven per cent YoY. US cement consumption to drop 30.9 per cent in second quarter

The US cement consumption will drop 30.9 per cent in second quarter, according the Ed Sullivan, Chief Economist, Portland Cement Association (USA). Sullivan was speaking during the Cemtech Live Webinar on 15 April 2020, which was attended by over 400 participants from the global cement industry. Sullivan was due to speak at the IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on 20 April, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Watch the full presentation here
