Peru first-quarter dispatches up 10.8%

Cement dispatches from the Peruvian market reached 2,476,577t in the first quarter of 2013, representing a YoY rise of 10.8 per cent on the same period of last year (2,235,485t).

Of the total dispatches in the first quarter of this year, 2.42Mt were destined for the domestic market while cement exports accounted for the remaining 55,204t.

Production during the January-March 2013 period was 2,503,842t, 12 per cent higher than the 2,235,485t recorded in the same period of 2012.

In March 2013 alone, total dispatches were 795,933t, compared to 788,368t in the same month the year before.
