US January shipments - preliminary data

Portland and blended cement shipments in the US and Puerto Rico in January 2015 were 5.355Mt, preliminary data* from the US Geological Survey shows.

Of the total shipments, domestic dispatches comprised 4.859Mt and imports 496,005t.

Earlier this month, the USGS confirmed that total shipments in 2014 reached 88.4Mt, up by about eight per cent YoY. Imports for the whole year totalled 8.39Mt, an increase of around 16 per cent from 2013.
