Kerneos India breaks ground on AP calcium aluminate cement plant

Kerneos India held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 30,000tpa greenfield calcium aluminate cement plant in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh (AP).

Segi P Idicula, managing director of Kerneos (India and Middle East), said the Vizag project has the infrastructure to set up another 30,000tpa line, which would be taken up as the market grows.  While catering to domestic needs would be its primary objective, the Vizag plant would also export products to neighbouring countries. The new facility is expected to be completed in two years, according to Mr Idicula.

The Vizag plant will be Kerneos' 12th manufacturing plant globally. Three of its plants are located in France, three are in China, one is in the UK and one is in the US.
