Representatives from Tajikistan and Pakistan have discussed ways to improve trade relations for the mutual benefit of both countries, with the cement industry identified as a potential area of cooperation.
Jononov Sherali, Ambassador of Tajikistan, said that the geographical locations of both countries offer as-yet untapped opportunities for working together, during a meeting with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr Sherali also commented on how Pakistan could become one of the countries who invest in the four free economic zones within Tajikistan, to export products to the central Asian market.
The President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Amir Waheed, said that both countries should focus on developing connectivity between their private sectors.
