Dushanbe cement plant closed03 January 2024, Published under Cement NewsOJSC Cementi Tojik (Tajik Cement) has closed of the Dushanbe cement plant due to considerable air pollution in Tajikistan’s capital city. The plant has been replaced by a new production unit. Earlier this year Tajik Cement opened a 1.2Mta cement plant in Ismoili Somoni, Dushanbe, on a 35ha plot. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the plant was held on 17 September 2019. |

Of this total, more than 538,000t were exported, down 138,000t compared to the same period a year earlier. Tajikistan produced 2.9Mt of cement in the January-August 2022 period. Other key importers include Kyrgyzstan and Kazakstan, which exported 458,000t and 409,000t, respectively to Uzbekistan. |
